The college provides ample opportunities for training in various games and sports in the college play ground adjacent to the main building of the college under the able guidance of the Physical Education Teacher (PET) of the college. Training in major games like football, Volleyball, basketball, cricket and indoor games like Table Tennis, Badminton etc. are given.

A spacious auditorium equipped with all necessary modern facilities is utilized for organizing literary and cultural activities throughout the year in order to nurture and nourish the innate talents of the students in various fields. Various cultural activities like music, dance, drama, instrumental music etc. and literary activities like seminar Symposia, extension lectures by eminent professor s, Departmental seminars, debates, discussions on important issues are organized in the auditorium.
The N.C.C. senior division (Boys’) wing is supervised by 1 APBN NCC based at Naharlagun with a part-time N.C.C. officer in the unit. The senior division Boys’ unit has 160 cadets, supplemented by senior Division Girls’ wing with 110 cadets. The N.C.C. is pledged to develop a sense of responsibility, discipline hard work and leadership in the lives of cadets for their motherland. Being trained under N.C.C the students enjoy additional opportunity to choose their future career in police, defence service etc.
Students opting for N.C.C. are to collect their forms from the N.C.C. office of the college and they are to submit the forms to the N.C.C officers (Boys & girls).

The D.N. Govt. college Itanagar N.S.S. wing was raised in 1985 with one programme officer and 100 volunteers. The number of volunteers has increased to 200 now and the unit is looked after by two programme officers.

The wing undertakes regular activities as well as special camp during every session. It also adopts a nearby village as model village and undertakes various community developments works in the village.
