Students Support Services

Coaching For Entry in Services

The college provides free coaching to aspirants of various State and Union Public services Exams of different grades, especially to those who are from ST/SC and minority communities. The eligible candidates have to go through screening Test for short-listing. The Students are advised to contact the coordinator for getting enrolled in the coaching. Absolutely free coaching is conducted for competitive examinations between September and April in every academic session.

Information and Technology Cell

The college has an IT Cell which deals with the digitization of College data in the form of website, Wi-Fi Campus and Interactive Classroom Techniques (ICT) with support from NMEICT, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India.

Eco- Club

The college has Eco Club which organizes Interactive sessions/ Essay Writing Competitions/ lectures by specialized Resource Persons for the benefit of the students. The Club is regularly involved in the development of plantation and gardens within the college campus to create awareness about beautification, environment and ecology.

Arts Club

The college has an Arts Club which organizes Painting competitions/ Drawing competitions and Exhibitions for enriching the artistic creativity and exposing inner talents of the students and faculty.

Poetry/Literary-Club

The college has a Poetry/Literary Club which is involved in conduct of Poetry competitions, Essay competitions, Debates and other literary activities in order to transform the enthusiastic students into an active citizen and contribute to the society.

Post-Office

The College has a sub post- office attached to the main administrative block facilitating the students and other staff in maintaining their postal communications and develop savings habit in postal bank account.

Transport Facility

Institution provides a college bus for transportation to the students and the staff. In addition to college bus, the state transport corporation provides two buses to the college campus in the morning and evening on annual bus card system from Nirjuli and Naharlagun. However, there should be more than 60 applicants for a bus service; else transport department does not entertain detainment of bus.

Students interested to avail the transport facility (College/Transport Bus) are required to apply to the college authority or Superintendent of AP State Transport Station, Itanagar as t he case may be, immediately after admission as the concessional cards are issued on First Come First Served basis as
per number of seats available in the bus.

 

College Canteen

The College has two well furnished canteens to cater to the needs of the students and staff. Food items are prepared in hygienic condition and are available at reasonable rates.

 

Alumni Association

The college has an Alumni Association to foster stronger relations between the alumni and the inmates of the college. Any person, who has studied in the college for at least one year or obtained a degree from the college, is eligible to become a member of AADNGCI. Desiring persons may get themselves registered with the office of the AADNGCI by filling up a registration form with a token payment of Rs. 20/- towards membership.

Travelling Concessions

The students are granted the facility of travelling between Itanagar and their respective home towns and educational excursions on concessional rates by railways during the Winter Break and Summer Vacation, as applicable under the rules.

 

College Day Celebration

The Annual College Day is celebrated in the 1 week of November every year organizing competitions in cultural, literary, Games & Sports activities etc.

 

Anti-Ragging Committee

The college has a Committee for Discipline that deals with any kind of indiscipline by the students including ragging, if any. Any form of ragging should be reported to the College authority which could be redressed at the earliest.

As a part of sensitization of students on what constitutes ragging, the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s guidelines of the same are quoted hereunder:

  1. Any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student.
  2. Indulging in rowdy or undisciplined activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student.
  3. Asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student.
  4. Any act by a senior student that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic activity of any other student or a fresher.
  5. Exploiting the services of a fresher or any other student for completing the academic tasks assigned to an individual or a group of students.
  6. Any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher or any
    other student or by students.
  7. Any act of physical abuse including all variants of it: sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping, forcing absence and lewd acts, gestures causing bodily harm or any other danger to health or person.
  8. Any act or abuse by spoken words, e-mails, post public insults which also include deriving perverted pleasure, vicarious or sadistic thrill from actively or passively participating in the discomfiture to fresher or any other student.
  9. Any act that affects the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher or any other student with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student.

 

Women’s Cell

A Women’s cell in the college helps to create awareness among the women students regarding their rights in the society, their health issues in adulthood and guard against the gender discrimination but also to protect the interest of the women in general in the campus and beyond.
