Guidelines for AI Generated Contents
The purpose of this policy is to establish clear guidelines regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI)-generated content in manuscripts submitted to Dera Natung Government College Research Journal. These guidelines ensure the integrity, originality, and ethical standards of scholarly publishing.
Definition : AI-generated content refers to any text, figures, tables, or data created wholly or partially using artificial intelligence tools such as large language models (LLMs), image generators, code assistants, or similar technologies.
Acceptable Use of AI in Manuscripts: Authors may use AI tools for specific, limited purposes, including:
- Language editing and grammar improvement
- Data analysis assistance (e.g., statistical calculations, coding support)
- Figure enhancement and visualization
- Literature summarization and reference management
AI tools should be used as aids and not as substitutes for original research, interpretation, or intellectual contribution.
Prohibited Use of AI in Manuscript: The following uses of AI-generated content are strictly prohibited:
- AI-generated text presented as original scholarly work without proper human oversight
- The inclusion of AI-generated ideas, interpretations, or conclusions without human validation
- Plagiarism or the use of AI to generate text that mimics existing published works
- AI-generated images or figures without appropriate verification and attribution
- Misrepresentation of AI-generated data as actual experimental or observational findings
Disclosure Requirements: If AI tools have been used in manuscript preparation, authors must disclose their use in a dedicated section (e.g., "Author Contributions" or "Methods"), specifying:
- The name and version of the AI tool(s) used
- The specific tasks AI-assisted (e.g., grammar checking, data visualization)
- Assurance that AI-generated content has been reviewed and verified by the authors
Failure to disclose AI use may lead to manuscript rejection or retraction.
Authorship and Responsibility: AI tools cannot be credited as authors. Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy, validity, and originality of the content, including any AI-assisted sections. The submitting authors must ensure that all AI-generated contributions comply with ethical publishing standards.
Ethical Considerations:
- AI-generated content must comply with ethical research and publishing standards, including originality, transparency, and proper attribution.
- AI tools should not be used to fabricate, manipulate, or misrepresent data or research findings.
- The use of AI in manuscripts must align with the journal’s policies on research integrity and responsible authorship.
Editorial Review and Compliance: Manuscripts suspected of containing undisclosed AI-generated content will be subject to additional scrutiny. The editorial board reserves the right to:
- Request clarifications or additional disclosures from authors
- Use AI-detection tools to assess manuscript content
- Reject or retract manuscripts that violate AI usage policies
Policy Updates: As AI technology evolves, these guidelines will be periodically reviewed and updated to reflect best practices and emerging ethical considerations in academic publishing.
