NSS: CAREER COUNSELLING CUM CERTIFICATE DISTRIBUTION PROGRAMME

1st May, 2025, 06:09 pm NSS: CAREER COUNSELLING CUM CERTIFICATE DISTRIBUTION PROGRAMME

Date: 01.05.2025

The NSS Cell in collaboration with IQAC Cell of Dera Natung Govt College (DNGC), Itanagar, on 1st May 2025, successfully organized Career Counselling-cum-Certificate Distribution Programme in the Conference Hall of the college.

The event was graced by Dr. M.Q. Khan (Principal DNGC) as the Resource Person.

The event saw the active participation of 190 senior NSS volunteers from all 14 departments of DNGC, who were recognised and awarded NSS certificates for their outstanding commitment and dedication. Also, the most 30 active volunteers were awarded the Certificate of Appreciation.

The programme which was held under the esteemed presence of Dr. M. Q. Khan, Principal of Dera Natung Government College, was a momentous occasion for the volunteers. He imparted effective career counselling making the NSS Volunteers aware of the various career opportunities and how to achieve their goals in life through hard work, sincerity, positivity and strategic preparation. He exhorted the students to choose a career according to their aptitude and interest and to link their studies with career. Dr. Khan congratulated the volunteers for their three years of invaluable service as NSS volunteers, highlighting the positive impact they have made in their communities.

During his address, Dr. Khan focused on the importance of career development and provided guidance on various avenues available to the volunteers. He shed light on prestigious entrance exams like CUET, RGUCET and other competitive examinations that can open doors to promising career paths. Additionally, he stressed the need for responsible use of social media and the avoidance of other distractions that could hinder their progress.

“As the volunteers leave their NSS journey behind, armed with newfound knowledge and skills, they are poised to make significant contributions to society. Their dedication and commitment will undoubtedly leave a lasting legacy and inspire others to follow in their footsteps” expressed Dr. Khan.

Dr. Khan concluded his speech with a slogan “Bhawar se dar kar kashti kabhi par nahi hoti, koshish karne waloh ki kabhi haar nahi hoti”.

The NSS Programme Officer and Assistant Professor Botem Moyong, who successfully coordinated the whole event, presented the welcome note, and highlighted the various activities carried out by NSS Cell DNGC during the last four years. The career counselling-cum-certificate distribution programme served as a platform for NSS volunteers to reflect on their achievements and chart their future paths. It was an opportunity for them to gain valuable insights and guidance, further strengthening their resolve to make a positive impact in their chosen fields, informed Mr. Moyong.

Assistant Professor (Chemistry) Phuntso Gombu, one of the NSS Programme Officers presented vote of thanks and informed that the NSS Unit of Dera Natung Government College, Itanagar, continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the lives of young individuals and fostering their personal growth. Through initiatives like the career counselling programme, the college aims to empower its students to become responsible citizens and catalysts for change. Dr. Kipa Roni (Asstt. Prof. Education) and the Programme Officer NSS also attended the programme.

The event concluded with a beautiful group photo session.
