The Arts Club of Dera Natung Government College (DNGC), in collaboration
with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a Career Counseling cum Certificate
Distribution Ceremony on May 10, 2025, at the College Conference Hall.
Welcoming the
gathering, Dr. Bombi Riram,
Convenor of the Arts Club, outlined the objectives of the event and emphasized
the importance of career guidance for students.
Dr. M. Q. Khan, Principal of DNGC and the Chief Guest, lauded the Arts Club for
providing a platform to showcase budding talents and creativity. He emphasized
that art helps individuals connect with nature and should be promoted more
actively. He congratulated the student -artists for their creative achievements
and encouraged them to remain focused on their academic and personal growth.
Addressing the
students, Dr. Khan stressed the significance of career counseling and inspired
them to ‘think big’ and stay self-motivated. He remarked, ‘The world cannot
change you unless you decide to change yourself’. Hard work, focus, and time management
are keys to success.’ He also highlighted the importance of giving back to
society, preserving and learning traditional knowledge through elders,
promoting sustainable practices, and maintaining good health as a foundation
for overall success.
Dr. Khan also
offered practical tips for exam preparation, including effective time
management, taking mock tests, understanding question patterns, note-making,
regular revision, and legible writing. He exhorted the students to be career
conscious and to laminate themselves from all evils specially from the demon of
Drugs and to set a goal for transforming their dreams into reality through the
power of positivity. As a token of love and gesture of encouragement, he
distributed more than one hundred copies of his authored books to all students
who attended the programme.
Dr. Bige Yomgam, Head of the Department of
Education and former Convenor of the Arts Club, speaking as a special invitee
appreciated the students' talents and encouraged them to identify both their
strengths and areas for improvement. She urged the students to nurture their
skills and strive to become responsible and capable individuals.
The programme, coordinated by Dr.
Bombi Riram, Dr. Gopi Riba and Dr. Chalak Lowang concluded with award of
certificates to the outgoing students of Arts Club.
