Inaugural Programme

In his address, the Honourable Chief Minister praised the college for its remarkable growth—from its humble beginnings to its current stature of academic and cultural excellence. He outlined various government initiatives for students in entrepreneurship, sports, and the merchant navy, urging them to utilise these opportunities. Emphasising the role of Yuva Shakti, he encouraged students to remain active in both academics and extracurricular activities, noting that holistic development is the hallmark of true education.

He also announced the construction of the proposed Siddhartha Hall, a new auditorium and convention centre, and shared plans for establishing another college in the ICR region—reflecting the government’s commitment to expanding higher education infrastructure.

Guest of Honour Shri Techi Kaso encouraged students to balance academics with co-curricular involvement. He stressed the importance of discipline, peace, and harmony, urging students to cultivate mutual respect and avoid violence. He reminded them to honour the sacrifices of their families and strive for success both academically and personally.

Principal Dr. M. Q. Khan expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister for his unwavering support over the past three years and thanked Shri Techi Kaso for initiating funding for the administrative block. He noted that many projects had already been completed, while others, such as the introduction of Sociology and Mass Communication departments, were progressing steadily. Dr. Khan also appreciated Ms. Ratan Ania, Chairperson, APSCPCR, for her dedicated work in child welfare; Ms. Techi Mema, Corporator, IMC, for her support at the local level; and Deputy Commissioner Shri Toko Babu for his consistent assistance.

A major highlight of the inaugural ceremony was the release of the annual college magazine Alokarun, unveiled by the Honourable Chief Minister. Cultural performances included a folk song and a mega dance featuring 210 students representing various tribes of Arunachal Pradesh. The Department of History was adjudged Best March Past. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Wangda Gyana, followed by the commencement of sports events.

Valedictory Programme

The XLV Annual College Week concluded on 15th November 2025 with a grand Valedictory Programme. Professor (Dr.) Pradeep Lingfa, Chairman of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, graced the event as Chief Guest, accompanied by Guest of Honour Ms. Mamta Riba, IAS, and Special Invitee Shri Tarin Rai, President, BJP State Minority Morcha.

Valedictory Highlights

In his address, Professor Lingfa commended the college for fostering an environment that supports holistic development. He encouraged students to participate actively in co-curricular activities, noting that winning or losing is secondary to learning and growth. He emphasised that college life forms the foundation for future discipline, character, and life skills.

Ms. Mamta Riba, IAS, aligned her remarks with the year’s theme, underscoring the urgent need for water conservation. She highlighted rainwater harvesting, mindful consumption, and community-led conservation initiatives, along with future-oriented technologies like desalination. She urged students to integrate environmental responsibility into their daily actions and reminded them that education must equip them to serve society with humility and compassion.

Principal Dr. Khan expressed gratitude to the dignitaries and proudly highlighted the college’s achievements, including 54 departmental toppers in 2024–2025, with 12 achieving university-level distinctions. He noted the consistent excellence of students in extracurricular fields and the introduction of two football teams per house to strengthen the sports culture. He reaffirmed DNGC’s status as one of the state’s most prestigious institutions, with alumni serving across diverse professional sectors.

Special Invitee Shri Tarin Rai, an alumnus of the college, encouraged students to trust the state’s education system and make full use of their time at DNGC. He described the college as a microcosm of Arunachal Pradesh, where diversity fosters academic, social, cultural, and emotional growth.

The programme concluded with the distribution of prizes and acknowledgements to all contributors.

Literary, Cultural, and Sports Highlights

The Literary Activities Committee released the results of the various competitions held during the celebrations. Among the standout performers, Jabed Abedin (Zoology, 5th Sem) received multiple accolades and was named Best Litterateur of the Year.

The cultural events were vibrant and engaging. Lohit House won the Solo Song competition, followed by Siang and Subansiri. Siang House secured first position in both the Group Dance Freestyle (Girls) and the Traditional Group Dance, with Lohit and Kameng in second and third positions.

Sports events witnessed enthusiastic participation across field and track categories such as Discus Throw, Javelin, Shot Put, and races including 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1500m.
