World Rabies day 2023 has been celebrated on 28th September in the conference hall of D. N. Govt college, Itanagar to create awareness among the youth about the 100% fetal yet easily preventable disease. The program was organised by District Medical Office, ICR, Naharlagun in association with D.N.Govt. College Itanagar. A group of senior doctors shared valuable information regarding the spreading of rabies virus. The program started with the welcome address by Dr. Giri Tali, DSO, ICR followed by the very interesting and informative presentation by Dr. Nido Taylor, Senior doctor, SVO, Veterinary Dispensary, Itanagar. He very nicely focused on the exposure of Rabies virus and its impact on human health. He nicely pointed out how vaccination can save our life and the responsibilities of pet owners to take preventive measures by vaccinating their pets. Another senior doctor Dr. Dominic Lokam, DLO-cum-DPO, DVBDCP gave valuable presentation on spreading of Dengue virus and its preventive measures. Dr. Giri Tali also highlighted important facts regarding the precautionary measure that people should take in order to prevent the spreading of Rabies virus. DNGC Principal Dr. MQ Khan also spoke on the event. He commended the efforts of the medical team and shared invaluable insights into various viral diseases.
